ROME ROME ROME

Love a city break?

I couldn’t recommend Rome enough. I went for 3/4 days and it was the perfect amount of time to see the city properly.

We managed to find a hotel which was around £150 including flights and even breakfast! 4* – amazing value for money and lovely staff. Once I find the name I’ll tag it in my insta!

On the Friday we got there we went round to the Spanish steps and had some amazing ice cream. We walked around for a few hours taking in the beautiful sights.

We had dinner this night for a reasonable price. €10 for a starter, main and a glass of wine. It was in a really cute restaurant which felt like you were in someone’s house!

The next day we went to the Vatican where we saw some of the most paintings, sculptures and even the pope – for real!

We then went to the colosseum and it was the best place I’ve ever been to!!

One thing I would say about Rome is that there are two ways to do it; on a budget or pretty pricy…

If you do it on a budget then there will be a lot of waiting around and less eating involved and you may not try the traditional Italian ice cream (we paid like €8 for the most beautiful ice cream I’ve ever had)

We did it the slightly more expensive way and paid €35 for a tour guide at each place but skipped the queue and found out a lot more information. They’re hovering around everywhere so make use of them and negotiate!!

I’ll add more as and when I think of it…

Oh yeah and make sure you use the train it’s so reasonably priced and easy. You don’t need cabs ever (you can walk from one end to the other in like an hour if you really wanted to) if you have enough time you don’t even need a tour bus – we walked it all and you get to see so much more!!!

Let me know what you thought of Rome
